People often wonder if participation in the arts benefits children in other academic areas. In fact scientific research at the University of California at Irvine and University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh proves a causal link between childhood arts participation and higher intelligence. The College Board has shown a direct correlation between improved SAT scores and the length of time spent studying the arts.

Active participation in the arts builds literacy among children and helps them develop intuition, reasoning, imagination, and dexterity into unique forms of expression and communication. Your community benefits from programs like Ballet Northwest's.

We at Ballet Northwest are happy that participation in the arts benefits children in other academic areas. However, we also believe the arts are food for the soul and are necessary for a complete and fulfilling life experience. If you believe this too, then please make an investment in children by supporting Ballet NW through program advertising.
