Audition

Auditions for the dance company and The Nutcracker were held September 22, 2012.
To audition for the BNW Company, dancers must be 12 years old by August 31 and enrolled in a minimum of two intermediate ballet classes each week at any studio. Company dancers participate in the annual winter production of The Nutcracker, as well as The Sleeping Beauty in May.

Sun. September 30: Mandatory Nutcracker Community Cast Parent Meeting,
        DANCER CONTRACTS DUE!
7:30pm Sat. October 27: BNW presents Oregon Ballet Theatre
Wed. November 21-Sat. November 24: Nutcracker Thanksgiving weekend (yes, mandatory rehearsals on Sun. November 25)
Sun. December 9-Thu. December 13: Nutcracker tech week
Fri. December 14-Sun. December 23: Nutcracker performances
Sun. January 26 (tentative): Sleeping Beauty auditions (Company only)
Sat. March 2-Sun. March 3: Olympia Dance Festival
Sat. March 30-Fri. April 5: Sleeping Beauty Spring Break (yes, mandatory rehearsals Sat. April 6 and Sun. April 7)
May 5-9: Sleeping Beauty tech week
May 10-12: Sleeping Beauty performances

The financial cost of providing dance opportunities through Ballet Northwest is high and requires a commitment of each company member. Participation fees for the 2012-2013 season are as follows: Community Cast (Nutcracker only) Fee - $125
BNW Dance Company Fee - $250
We accept Visa, MasterCard and checks (payable to Ballet Northwest).

The Board of Directors of Ballet Northwest understands that the company fee may put financial strain on some families. Limited financial aid and family discounts are available. These requests will be reviewed for financial need and kept confidential. Dancers will be notified when requests have been approved. Dancers MUST pay the Participation Fee or submit a Partial Fee Waiver application to be able to participate in the production(s).
