Ballet Northwest holds auditions the first weekend of every October for the coming season. Dancers who are at least age 8 by August 31 may audition for The Nutcracker only. To audition for the company, dancers must be 12 years old by August 31 and enrolled in a minimum of two intermediate ballet classes each week at any studio. Company dancers participate in the annual winter production of The Nutcracker, as well as the spring production in May.
The financial cost of providing dance opportunities
through Ballet Northwest is high and requires a
commitment of each company member. Participation fees
for the 2011-2012 season are as follows: Community Cast (Nutcracker
only) Fee - $125
BNW Dance Company Fee - $250
We accept Visa, MasterCard and checks (payable to Ballet
Northwest).
The Board of Directors of Ballet Northwest understands that the company fee may put financial strain on some families. Partial Fee Waiver applications are available. These requests will be reviewed for financial need and kept confidential. Dancers will be notified when requests have been approved. Dancers MUST pay the Participation Fee or submit a Partial Fee Waiver application to be able to participate in the production(s).
